Friends and Enemies rules
Friends and Enemies is a straightforward game to play with friends. It can be set up easily and is fun to play. But it also requires a bit of tactics and strategy. During that game, you may realize who your friends really are !
How to play Friends and Enemies ?
Equipment
Here is what you will need :
- A regular deck of 52 cards
- Cups for all players
- Beverage
Set up
As mentioned earlier, the set-up is very simple. First, take a deck of 52 card and remove all cards above 6. Said differently, keep all cards between aces and sixes, inclusively. It makes a total of 24 cards.
Then deal all cards to the players. Make sure the players receive the same amount of cards. If the quantity of cards is not a multiple of the quantity of players, discard the extra cards. For instance, When playing at 4 players, all players receive 6 cards. When playing at 5 players, all players get 4 cards and discard the 4 extra cards
Rules
The first player starts the game by putting one card face up on the table. Then that player nominates another player. Then, that nominated player has 3 options :
- Drink an amount of glasses equals to the value of the card on the table
- Put a card of the same value from his hand and nominates another player. If they cannot or do not want to do so, they drink an amount of glasses equals to the value of the card on the table
- Ask the help of another player. If anyone around the table has a matching card in their hand, they can decide to play that card instead of the player initially nominated. Doing so, they nominated a new player. If no one can or wants to help, the nominated player drinks an amount of glasses equals to the value of the card on the table
Example of game
- Player A puts a 3 and nominated player B
- Player B puts a 3 and nominated player C
- Player C has no 3 card on hand and takes 3 drinks
- Player C puts a 5 and nominated player D
- Player D has no 5 card and asks for help
- Player A plays a 5 and save player D. Then Player A nominates player C
- Player C has no 5 card and asks for help
- No one can or wants to save player C
- Player C takes 5 drinks
